Return Policy

At Patine Atelier, we take pride in the artisanal quality of our hardware. Because our products are crafted from solid brass and many feature living finishes designed to evolve over time, we have established the following guidelines for returns.

1. Return Window & Eligibility

30-Day Returns: We accept return requests for eligible items within 30 days of the delivery date.

Condition: Items must be in new, uninstalled, and pristine condition with all original packaging and mounting hardware included.

Restocking Fee: A 20% restocking fee applies to all eligible returns to cover the costs of inspection and processing.

Shipping: Original shipping charges are non-refundable. Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless the return is due to a manufacturer defect or shipping error.

2. Special Note on Unlacquered Brass Finished Products

Our Unlacquered Brass is a "living finish" that begins to age the moment it is exposed to air and touch.

Strict Requirement: We cannot accept returns for any Unlacquered Brass items that have been opened from its original packaging. Fingerprints and oils initiate the patina process immediately, making the item ineligible for resale.

Samples Recommended: Due to the natural variations in brass and the aging process, we strongly recommend purchasing a single sample item before placing a large order to ensure the finish meets your expectations.

3. Non-Returnable Items

The following items are considered Final Sale and cannot be returned:

Made to Order or bespoke orders.

Items marked as "Final Sale" or "Clearance."

Items that have been treated with aging solutions or chemicals.

Gift cards.

4. Damages & Discrepancies

Immediate Inspection: Please inspect your order immediately upon receipt.

Reporting: If you receive a damaged, defective, or incorrect item, please contact us at hello@patineatelier.com within 7 days of delivery. We will provide a replacement at no additional cost to you.

5. Exchanges

To provide the fastest service, we do not offer direct exchanges. If you need a different size or finish, please initiate a return for your original order and place a new order for the desired items.

6. How to Initiate a Return

Contact our support team at hello@patineatelier.com with your Order Number and the reason for return.

Once approved, we will provide a Return Authorization (RA) number and shipping instructions.

Pack the items securely. We recommend using a trackable shipping service, as we are not responsible for items lost or damaged during return transit.

7. Refunds

Once your return is received and inspected by our warehouse (usually within 5 business days), we will process your refund. The credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment, minus return shipping cost and the restocking fee.

At Patine Atelier, each piece of hardware is hand-inspected and carefully packaged at our studio in New Jersey. We are committed to ensuring your architectural jewelry arrives safely and promptly to your doorstep.
